Police in Kanungu District are holding a woman accused of stealing coffee from a resident’s garden.
The suspect, Nizamukunda Noziatah, alleged stole the coffee belonging to Tindimuwa Mathias, a resident of Nganga Village, Nyanga Parish in Nyanga Subcounty on Thursday night.
She was nabbed on following lll a Police sniffer dog successfully tracked her to her home.the matter was reported, a team of detectives, working with the Canine Unit, responded promptly and found the crime scene well-preserved.
A police sniffer dog, Clara, picked up the suspect’s scent and tracked it for about 200 metres, leading officers straight to Nizamukunda’s home. Police say the stolen coffee was recovered from the house and kept as evidence.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be presented before court.
Police urged the public to preserve crime scenes to support effective investigations, noting that the K9 unit continues to play a critical role in solving such offences.
