The territorial police of Kisoro have arrested five suspects allegedly for illegal possession of government stores which include a firearm, a number of ammunitions, military fatigue, GPS machine and Binocular.
The suspects are; RA 247119 PTE Mbazira Trovice attached to Joint Anti force police headquarters, Mugisha male adult 52years resident of Ganda village,Nabweru Nansana Wakiso district, Ntate John 25years a hawker and resident of Kazo west, Nabweru Nansana,Sekiranda an adult male and boda boda at mini price Kampala also a resident of Nansana and Muheki Elias a 30 year old business man dealing in Irish potatoes in Rwebikona, Mbarara City.
It’s alleged that on the 13th June, 2023 at around 11 pm, at Kisoro CPS information was received by D/sgt Warugaba Lawrence from locals who reported that there was a vehicle parked along Busamba Road in Kisoro municipality for along time.
D/sgt Warugaba Lawrence together with the team of night patrol proceeded to the scene and found motor vehicle registration number UAQ 236M Noah silver in colour parked along Busamba road with about six occupants, four were arrested who included Mugisha Bosco, Ntaale John, Sekiranda Stanley, Muheki Elias and two others took off.
They were later transferred to Kisoro central police station and on search they were found with three magazines loaded with 90 rounds of ammunitions, a pair of UPDF uniform, UPDF warm suit, GPS machine, Binocular, screw driver among others.
After about 30 minutes Mbazira Trovice reported himself in station claiming ownership of the motor vehicle and some properties therein, alleging that he had given it to his friend who is a driver at Kyanika names yet to be established who had requested to go somewhere and that for him he had booked a room at Home Lodging Kivengere road Kisoro Municipality where an SMG rifle no. UPDF XK 576754 Loaded with 30 rounds was recovered as well.
ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident and inquiries are underway to establish their motive and after which a way forward will be determined. Case was recorded under SD 69/13/6/23.
