Residents of Mutara Town Council in Mitooma district are in a shock after one of their fellows was found lying dead on the roadside on the way to his home.
The Greater Bushenyi Region Police Spokesperson, SSP Martial Tumusiime has identified the deceased as Osbert Runwa, 50, a resident of Bikungu Village, Bikungu Parish, Mutara Town Council in Mitooma district.
According to reports, Runwa left his home for Mutara town on Sunday (March 23) afternoon but did not return home. His body was found lying on the roadside on the way to his home the following day at around 10am.
Police says that the deceased had some physical injuries on his body attributing his death to alleged murder.
“Our team visited the scene of the crime, documented it and recorded the statements. The deceased had injuries on the head, arms and legs,” SSP Martial said.
The deceased body was conveyed to Kitagata hospital for a postmortem.
By press time, burial arrangements were on at the deceased home in Bikungu.
