Journalists blocked from Martyrs Day Venue

The territorial police in Katwe Kampala has on Wednesday arrested 58 suspects from Masajja Division on allegations of aggrevated robbery.

The suspects according to police have been participating in aggrevated robberies targeting residential houses and persons in the areas of Salaama, Masajja, Mutundwe and Bunamwaya.

They were arrested after several reports to police from residents of Kisangani area located in Masajja A Zone, Masajja parish, Masajja Division Makindye Ssabagabo Wakiso district about thugs that have been terrorizing their area.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire says that police recovered narcotics substances, pangas, house breaking implements, and gloves that are used to cover fingerprints during the robberires.

He hailed residents for providing reliable information to the police leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The yet to identify 58 suspects are currently detained at Katwe police Division pending court.
