Kampala will on Saturday experience water supply shortages after country’s water supply body, National Water Sewerage Cooperation (NWSC) announced interruptions in water supply.

“The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation wishes to inform its valued customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in water supply tomorrow Saturday 14th January, 2023 from 8am to 7pm.” NWSC said

UEDCL Confirms power restoration in Mbale city after two days of black out.

In a statement released on Friday, NWSC urged residents to store enough water.

The shortage according to the cooperation is to due to a planned power shutdown by the UMEME team, to handle system upgrade works at Ggaba Water Works.

“The works are designed to improve power reliability at Ggaba power station,” read the statement in parts

The affected areas according to the cooperation are areas in the entire Kampala Water Supply Service Area.

“Customers are therefore advised  to store water and use it sparingly as it takes time for the system to stabilize after a total plant shutdown.”
