The Taxi regulatory body of Uganda, Uganda Revenue Authority [URA] has pledged to improve and preserve high levels of integrity in its operations.
URA comments follow moments after News on the resignation of her Four Senior Officials awashed social media earlier this day.
Among the resigned isMr Dicksons Kateshumbwa whose resignation became a talk of public attracting more comments questioning the resignations of four commissioners at a time when the body has just got its Commissioner General.
Kateshumbwa resigned with other three staff including Henry Saka, Silajji Kanyesigye Baguma and Samuel Kahima.
According to URA, accepted their resignations while making new appointments and transfers to fill the affected positions.
In a URA document seen by The Parrots, the four senior officials resigned a day after the body conducted a Board of Directors meeting (May28th,2020) on the authority reorganization and management.
“On 29thMay, the following senior officials resigned and the body has accepted their resignations,” reads a URA statement.
Additionally, management made appointments and transfers of new members to fill the vacant positions.
Mr Mukiibi Patrick has been appointed the Commissioner Domestic Taxes replacing the motormouthed Dicksons Kateshumbwa.
Others include; Patience T Rubagumya retained as Commissioner Legal services and Board Affairs, Herbert Rusoke retained as Commissioner Internal Audit and Compliances, Abel Kagumire retained as Acting Commissioner Customs, Mathew Mugabi appointed as Acting Commissioner Tax Investigations, James Kizza appointed Acting Commissioner Corporate Services and John Katungwensi who has been appointed Acting Assistant Commissioner Large Taxpayers Office.
The new appointments are according to the management assumes offices with immediate effect.
URA further pledged for integrity in what they termed as the ‘new era.’

The URA management neither clearly stated that Kateshumbwa and his group lacked integrity nor gave any reasons for their resignations.
