A 40-year-old man in Soroti district has been arrested in connections with rape, murder, aggravated robbery with the aid of an AK 47
The suspect is Orego Francis, 40, a resident of Arubela village, Dakabela parish, Arapai sub county in Soroti district.
Oscar Ageca, the East Kyoga region police spokesperson says police recovered an AK 47 SMG with 109 rounds of ammunition that the suspect has been using for various criminal activities.
He said the suspect is a former Arrow Boy defense personnel from 2003 to 2007 based Dakabela Sub County in Soroti district and has been in hiding because of his connection to the actively investigated crimes
Ageca noted that the police is committed to maintaining law and order in communities by protecting people’s lives and property from gun violence by arresting criminals.
