OBITUARY: The hand of the death has struck Mbarara Archdiocese after one of its seminarians passed on after drowning at family farm pond yesterday.
The deceased known as Seminarian Ashaba Peter Clever is a born of Ntungamo catholic centre, Butare Parish Buhweju district in Mbarara Archdiocese.
According to a death message to the family and friends, Seminarian Peter Clever yesterday Saturday June 27th while he had gone to do a farm work at their family farm in Butare Buhweju drowned in a pond where his body was found lying and his working tools on the pond shores.

“With deep sorrow, I announce to you the demise of my fellow Seminarian. Peter Clever Ashaba from Ntungamo center butare parish.He has today drowned in a pond in their farm. He had gone there to work on the fence of the farm today morning but only to find his panga near the pond and him down in water dead. He has been my classmate Ggaba seminary,” a one Seminarian Richard posted.
According to Savino (surname not disclosed) who received first information from home, the deceased had gone to work on the farm (fence), after some delay, they (family members) tried ringing him but his phone was off, they came & found a panga but the bearer was nowhere.
The search then started which just found his body in the dam.
The catholic church local media in Mbarara Archdiocese, Radio Maria – Mbarara confirmed the death news on their Facebook page.
Seminerian Peter Claver is a second year student of Theology at Ggaba National Seminary. He has been at his home for the ongoing holidays.
