Government has announced that it will not award more than two contracts to one contractor, starting next financial year to allow effective implementation of projects.
The Deputy Director, Anti-Corruption Unit at the Internal Security Organization Fatuma Namukwaya who represented state minister for economic monitoring Beatrice Akello Akori in a monitoring visit in Otuke, said they noticed that most projects have stalled because contractors are being given too many contracts to be done concurrently.
This was after their field visit to monitor the construction of Okum Seed Secondary School, Ating and Alango Health Centre III established that work is being done on a snail speed..
Namukwaya said that the decision has been already communicated to the line ministries of education and health.
Otuke district chairman Francis Abola asked for more funding from government for construction of the district headquarters that has stalled due to lack of funds.
He also asked for more funds for rehabilitation of schools, health facilities and roads in the district.
