Eliot Kabangira Magande was an exceptional current affairs journalist, a story teller and a talented vocalist. He made me fall in love with journalism. I still recall how he'd breakdown the Libyan, Yemen wars in his Friday night #AfricanMagazine presentations on Radio Ankole. RIP pic.twitter.com/XxE3FoXg6A

Eliot Kabangira Magande’s name cannot be skipped when talking about Radio industry in western Uganda and Uganda in particular.

He is a renown Radio documentary producer, and news editor who always pushed young journalists to tell great stories on the radio airwaves.

He was also a driving force behind African Magazine, a documentary program that featured the best foreign current affairs reports on wars, disasters, science and technology. The program, which aired every week on Friday for two hours on the airwaves of 99.3FM Radio Ankole in Ntungamo district, promised listeners it would “bring you the world closure to their homes.”
