An outraged mob in Masaka City has lynched a man to death after he allegedly hacked his15-year-old daughter for reporting him to police.
The incident happened on March 3 in Kitengeesa village, Masaka City at around 1 a.m.
It is alleged that the deceased father Deo Mwebe, used a sharp panga to hack his daughter Sophia Nantume, a Senior Three student at Buddu Islamic Secondary School in Kitengeesa who he accused of reporting him to police over yet undisclosed reasons.
According to Maidinah Nakayi, the deceased grandmother, Mwebe returned at home looking agitated and started sharpening panga before attacking Sophia, who was asleep in her room.
Nakayi stressed that Mwebe kept on accusing the victim of reporting him to the police.
Twaha Kasirye, the regional spokesperson said Mwebe took on fled the scene after committing the stressful act but later surrendered himself to locals who killed him in a mob justice.
Kasirye said that the police are still investigating the matter.
