NORWICH
A UK airport has suddenly shut down and temporally cancelled all flights after a plane collapsed during landing.
The incident happened in Norwich City on Sunday,at Norwich Airport when the “undercarriage collapsed” during landing.
The incident resulted into the cancellation of multiple flights between Norwich and Amsterdam. Another flight from Tenerife has been diverted to Stansted.
Emergency services rushed to Norwich airport, and reports indicate that the runway will be out of action until 5pm today.
“At 1.48pm today, a light aircraft with two people on board diverted to Norwich Airport with a reported undercarriage issue. Upon landing the undercarriage collapsed,” Airport spokesperson said.
“Fire and ambulance services attended and the two people were removed from the aircraft without injury. The airport runway will remain closed until at least 5pm while the aircraft is recovered.”
Fire and ambulance services attended and two people on a light aircraft l, and no fatal injuries have been reported.
