Police has embarked on its unprofessional tradition of spraying pepper, water cannons, gunshots on to the anti NRM groups and this time the National Unity Platforms – NUP were not spared.

The all smiles NUP upporters in Kampala metropolitan were jubilating Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s successful nomination before he was brutally arrested.

They were sprayed with pepper at Nakawa market while others were found in city arcades where they were watching and following events on Television.

Police also arrested Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine in a brutal arrest immediately after he was nominated a candidate for the 2021 presidential election.

He was inhumanly dragged out of his vehicle in which he was travelling together with his wife Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi. It is alleged that his car was vandalized in the scuffle to have him out.

NUP supporters snapped in city arcades and neighbouring areas jubilating Kyagulanyi’s successful nomination.

Police accuse Kyagulanyi of planning to hold a rally likely to disrupt public order, which he denies. He was arrested and taken to a yet to identify place, but close sources indicated that he must have been driven to Kamwokya at NUP headquarters where he is expected to address the press and launch his manifesto.

In related news, police at Najjanankumbi earlier this day sprayed pepper at the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Parliament, Hon. Betty Aol Ochan while she made entries to fdc headquarters for dedication prayers to their presidential candidate, Patrick Oboi Amuriat.

She was then asked to go to Kyambogo where the nomination exercise is taking place.
