The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) top leadership is convening this morning to announce their presidential flag bearer in the 226 elections.
Two people are vying for this position. They are party’s incumbent President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, and Secretary General Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi.
However, inside reports say that party NEC sitting this morning is holding internal consensus to allow a single candidate.
It should be recalled that the FDC Delegates Conference to elect presidential flag bearer is scheduled for tomorrow July 31.
The source further alleged that Nandala Mafabi has been named the party’s presidential candidate for 221 elections awaiting announcement.
“We announce to you a great joy: We have a Flagbearer,” the party posted on their social media platforms without disclosing the person.
Further reports allege that Amuriat was asked to stepdown in favour of Nandala following bitter consensus building talks, with each side pulling to their side.
By Press time, NEC was still in a closed door meeting with little access to the media , and is expected to brief the media on their resolutions and announcing their endorsed flag bearer.
