KAMPALA
The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has officially announced the winners of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) Vice Chairperson seats across Uganda’s sub-regions, following the conclusion of the party’s National Delegates Conference held at Kololo Independence Grounds.
The declarations were made by the NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, during the climax of the CEC polls, marking a significant moment in the party’s internal leadership restructuring.
Below are the confirmed winners and their respective vote tallies as per region.
Eastern Region was won by Calvin Martin Echodu with 5,211 translating to 99.5%, Karamoja Sub-region Loki JohnBaptist 3,694 votes (81% ), Northern Uganda Dennis Hamson Obua 3,591votes( 67%) Western Region Asiimwe Jonard with 4,044 votes(58%) ,Kampala Region Salim Saad Uhuru with 2,411 votes(63%), while Central Region, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo with 4,194( 50.3%).
The announcement was met with applause from delegates and party supporters gathered at Kololo, as the newly elected leaders prepare to assume their roles in shaping the strategic direction of the NRM across their respective regions.
Dr. Tanga Odoi commended the delegates for their participation and emphasized the importance of transparency and unity within the party’s electoral processes. “This exercise reflects the strength of our internal democracy and the commitment of our members to uphold the values of the Movement,” he stated.
The newly elected vice chairpersons are expected to play pivotal roles in mobilizing support, coordinating regional activities, and contributing to policy discussions within the CEC—the party’s highest decision-making organ.
As the dust settles on the conference, attention now turns to how these leaders will navigate regional priorities and reinforce the NRM’s presence ahead of future national engagements.
