BUVUMA
Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has pledged to establish a fish factory in Buvuma District if elected in next year’s general elections.
He made the remarks during a campaign rally on Lake Victoria islands on Tuesday. According to Nandala, the factory would help residents fight poverty by creating jobs and boosting incomes.

“This is our lake and everything in it belongs to all of us. I don’t see why poverty should kill us when we have this lake as a God-given treasure. If you vote for me, my plan is to start up a serious fish factory in this district,” he told supporters at Kadindili village.
Additionally, Mafabi pledged to improve infrastructure in the district, including road networks, electricity and connections to neighbouring areas.
“There is nowhere it’s written that Buvuma must never have electricity. We must have power all over this place,” he said.
On Monday, Mafabi launched his campaign at Njeru Town Council, Buikwe District, in which he pledged to improve on the blue economy through demilitarization of water bodies among other activities. He is expected to continue his campaign trail in Iganga District tomorrow.
