BUSHENYI
A Masters student at Kampala International University (KIU) – Western Campus on Sunday afternoon collapsed and died while revising for his examinations.
The deceased, identified as Edson Alinda, a resident of Kagote, Bushenyi District, was pursuing a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Management.
According to fellow students, Alinda was revising for his paper at about 2:00 p.m. in one of the lecture rooms when he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to KIU Teaching Hospital, but medical personnel pronounced him dead a few minutes later.
The cause of death remains unknown, as the doctors have not yet issued a postmortem report. Preliminary reports indicate that Alinda was a former teacher at Mpanga Secondary School, and had returned to school to further his studies. Both the greater Bushenyi regional police and university authorities have not yet issued official statements regarding this tragic incident.
By press time, arrangements were underway to transport Alinda’s body to his ancestral home for burial. MHSRIP
