BUSHENYI
Bushenyi District Woman MP, Annet Katusiime Mugisha, has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting faith-based development initiatives and other government programs geared towards improving household incomes.
Speaking to congregants at Rwenjeru Pentecostal Ministries in Rwenjeru Sub-county on Sunday, Katusiime said the church and other faith-based organisations play a vital role not only in nurturing spiritual growth but also in promoting social and economic development.
She urged religious leaders to continue preaching the message of economic transformation, unity and self-reliance among Christians.
Katusiime, who is seeking re-election for a second term on the NRM ticket, outlined several achievements she has registered in Bushenyi District, including improvements in local road infrastructure, support to schools, hospitals, and places of worship, and empowerment programmes for women and youth groups.
The MP commended Pr. Fred Bindeeba, the lead pastor of Rwenjeru Pentecostal Ministries, for his continued support towards her political agenda and pledged to return with almsgiving if re-elected.
“Your support cannot be taken for granted,” Katusiime told the congregation. “If you elect me for a second term, I will hold my thanksgiving service in this same church.”

In response, Pr. Bindeeba lauded Katusiime for her developmental efforts and urged the faithful to mobilize support to ensure her return to Parliament.
Katusiime is among over 500 MPs who will officially begin their campaigns on Monday, November 10, 2025, ahead of the 2026–2031 general elections.
According to a campaign roadmap seen by Parrots Media, she will kick off her rallies in Kyeizooba Sub-county, with scheduled stops at Kitagata Playground (9:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.), Rwenyina Church of Uganda (11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.), Omukashushano Town Council (1:30 p.m.–3:00 p.m.), and will close the day at Mukombesa Town Council (3:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m.).
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) has reminded all candidates across the country to comply with campaign guidelines, avoid hate speech and sectarian messages, and refrain from personal attacks.
EC chairperson Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama said the commission, working with the police and other security agencies, remains committed to ensuring peaceful, fair and secure campaigns nationwide.
