The Catholic church is in another sombre mood after the hand of death struck another Bishop days to Easter celebration.
It should be recalled that on the night of Good Friday in 2021, the church woke up on the blacksmith news of the mysterious death of outspoken human rights religious leader and the Archbishop of Kampala, Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who was found lying dead in his bed.
Two years later, and few days to Easter celebrations, another Bishop has passed on.
The deacesed is the Bishop Emeritus of Hoima Diocese, Edward Baharagate who according to reports passed on at Nsambya hospital, Kampala.
Hoima Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Vincent Kirabo confirmed to reports of the Emeritus Bishop’s death in an announcement signed by the diocesan chancellor Rev. Fr. Dominic Ndugwa.
Albert Edward Baharagate (born 25 February 1930 and died on 05 April 2023), was a Ugandan Roman Catholic priest who served as Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hoima. He was appointed as bishop of Hoima on 7 July 1969 and he resigned on 9 March 1991.
