Trevor James Byandala, a first year student at Uganda Christian University (UCU) was found dead on Tuesday, 28th January, 2025. He had been pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics Management.
Reports indicate that his friends and family had been searching for him in vain since he disappeared.
On Tuesday, UCU Students’ Guild announced that the missing student had been discovered dead but did not provide details surrounding his death.
Byandala’s death coincides with that of a first year student, Prossy Nabeera, 20, from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), who was discovered dead in her rented room in Taso village on the same day.
According to the university’s Dean of Students, Nahwera was a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Reports indicate that Byandala’s body was taken by his family for burial, while arrangements for Nahwera’s burial have not yet been announced. Meanwhile, the police have not released a statement regarding either case.
