The Police in Rwizi region is investigating circumstances underwhich a Boda Boda rider was murdered and his motorcycle stolen in aggrevated robbery.
Samson Asasira, the police spokesperson for Rwizi region has identified the deceased as Willy Ssegawa, a Boda Cyclist operating at Ntare Boda Boda stage in Boma cell Mbarara City.
The deceased is a born of Lwengo District who has been doing his Boda Boda business in Mbarara.
He was allegedly attacked by an unknown assailants who hit him with a hammer on the head killing him instantly.
The incident according to Kasasira happened on Sunday 5th June 2022 during the night in areas of Boma cell Mbarara City
The assailants later stole Ssegawa’s motorcycle registration number UFL296J Bajaj boxer red in colour
Police was notified by residents who discovered Ssegawa’s body and they immediately rushed to the scene of the crime.
The deceased body has been taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem
Kasasira said that the police is investigating the matter pledging to arrest the assailants who are on run and to recover the stolen motorcycle.
“The hunt for the assailants is on to have them arrested and Motorcycle recovered,” ASP Kasasira said
