A christmas luncheon invitation turned bloody after a man that had been invited to a friend’s home for a party was later stabbed and killed for alleged sexual affair with the hosts wife.
The deceased, Edward Ssekiwunga, 48, together with other people had been invited to a luncheon at the family of Peter Bafirawala at Busaata – Kyamagemule village, Kalangalo sub-county in Mityana district. However, he (Ssekiwunga) did not make it to the party on time as he first went to a nearby town in Kalangalo to watch a football match and proceeded to the suspect’s home at around 11pm.
Police preliminary reports indicate that the deceased when he reached, he found the suspect already asleep and he decided to move out with his wife.
“When the deceased woke up and realized that his wife was not around, he became suspicious and followed them. He found the deceased and his wife allegedly making love in a coffee plantation,” said SP Racheal Kawala, the Wamala region police spokesperson.
Kawala noted that the suspect used a sharp object to stab both the deceased and the wife, who fled the scene. The deceased was discovered in critical conditions the following morning but he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
“Our police visited and documented the scene, and the deceased body was found with stabs and was taken to Mityana hospital mortuary for a postmortem,” she added.
Meanwhile, the suspect took on his heels after committing this stressful act and he is still in hiding while efforts to apprehend him are underway. Kawala added that the suspect’s home was destroyed by the angry mob but revealed that investigations are ongoing regarding this incident.
