Graduates have been tasked to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to make difference and transform their communities improve their standards of living. The call was made by pediatrician Dr. Sabrina Bakeera Kitara during the 14th graduation ceremony of the Clarke International University.
“Do embrace the future with open hearts and open minds. Your journey has just begun, and the world waiting for you to make your mark. I have no doubt that each one of you has the power to shape a brighter tomorrow. So, March forward, together, and create a future that we can all be proud of,” she urged.
She challenged the graduates to always be actionable and believe themselves than waiting on people to do what they can do by themselves.
“Don’t ask, ” why doesn’t somebody do something? ” When you should ask, “Why don’t I do something?” let us stop the rhetoric and be actionable. Take a deep breath and take it all in. But, tomorrow, I hope you roll up your sleeves because the world is waiting for talented men and women to lead it to a better place,” said Sabrina Kitara, PhD.She further urged the graduates to be kind to people and serve others unselfishly.
A total of 436stidents graduated today at CIU 14th Graduation Ceremony held at the university grounds in Bukassi , Muyenga Kampala.
The chief guest, Dr. JC Muyingo, also the minister of state for higher education also challenged the graduates to uphold ethical standards and professionalism at work placements.
Muyingo who was represented by the commissioner of health training institutions at ministry of education, Safina Kisu Museene asked education institutions particularly those in health sciences to embrace digital technology in their teachings in order to ably compete with others across the world.
“…pepare students in digital era, I therefore encourage you to embrace digitalization in health, business by fostering digital collaboration, learning, literacy and investing in self development by familiarizing yourselves in current digital systems and softwares relevant to your fields,” said minister Miyingo in a speech read to him by commissioner Museene.
