Uganda commercial court in Nakasero under Lady Justice Patience Tumusiime Rubagumya has set 2nd September to start hearing the case in which Godfrey Muhiirwa of Yamaha center accusing Christopher Ssaazi of Nile Fishing Company Limited for stealing his money worthy ugx600 million.
It’s alleged that in the year 2019 when Nile Fishing company Limited was acting as the main distributor of Yamaha equipment in the country, Godfrey Muhiirwa of Yamaha center gave them a tune of about ugx105 million which he deposited on Nile Fishing Company account in Housing Finance Bank to provide him with 50 Yamaha water Engines in three days but they declined and failed to refund the money which has now accumulated to over ugx600 million with interests.

Muhiirwa claims that he borrowed money from Uganda Housing Bank, intending to repay the loan promptly after selling the engines. However, five years have passed, and nothing has been resolved. Meanwhile, the bank has started selling off his properties.”
“I thank Court for considering to call the matter for hearing because bank had started selling my properties and still more is likely to be taken for free if court fail to give justice denied for over 5 years” Muhiirwa says.
“It’s unfortunate that Christopher Ssaazi has been summoned for many times by police and failed to attend without clear information but instead narrating of COVID-19 which affected his business and hindered engine delivery.” Muhiirwa disclosed.
Muhiirwa is also urging Parliament and the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs to intervene in financial cases in the courts, as many opportunists are seizing people’s properties, some of which were acquired through government programs like Myooga, YLP, and UWEP, among others.
