The Conservative Party (CP) has launched a book to document alleged human rights abuses in Uganda.
The book dubbed “Red Book” initiative was launched at the party national headquarters in Rubaga Division Kampala on Thursday.
Speaking at the book launch, Pastor Joseph Elton Mabirizi, the party’s former presidential candidate in the recently conculeded elections said the initiative seeks to compile evidence of reported extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and torture, particularly cases allegedly involving opposition supporters and activists.
He said the documented cases will be prepared for possible submission to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to pursue accountability against individuals found culpable.
“We are calling upon all Ugandans with credible evidence of human rights violations to come forward and register their complaints so that justice can be pursued,” Mabirizi said.
Mbirizi maintained that the Red Book would serve as a formal record of alleged abuses and a tool to seek redress through international legal mechanisms.
Mabirizi came last in a seven-man presidential race after he garnered 23,458 votes, accounting for 0.21% of the total votes in the final results of the 2026 general election.
