Following the harmonization of the candidates’ campaign program by the Electoral Commission in Dokolo on Wednesday morning, political parties have started to officially launch campaigns for their respective flag bearers.
Sarah Aguti Nyangkori, the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) candidate is also launching her campaign this afternoon in Amwoma and Dokolo sub-counties.
Nyangkori who has since taken over the district since she declared her candidature early last month. The political pundit of Dokolo and Lango subregion is anchoring her message on addressing the welfare of Dokolo people to transform their livelihoods.
Addressing the media at their headquarters at Uganda House Kampala earlier today, Sharon Oyat Arach, the party spokesperson said party president Hon. James Jimmy Akena Obote will preside over the official campaign launch in Amwoma and Dokolo sub-counties today.
“UPC is indeed on ground mobilizing for the support of party candidate, Sarah Aguti Nyangkori as earlier affirmed by the president. We kindly appeal to the electorates and all the people of Dokolo to rally behind the UPC candidate,” Arach urged.
She described Aguti as the suitable candidate to represent and deliver the necessary service to the people of Dokolo.
On the other hand, the party called for peaceful campaigns, free and fair elections and warned against voter bribery, intimidations and vote rigging during campaigns and on polling day.
“UPC is not going to accept any plans of vote rigging. We shall not tolerate any form of vote rigging, bribery, and use of force by security personnel, and our team is ready to guard our votes until the last vote is cast, counted and declared.” She added.
