The works and Transport Minister Gen Edward Katumba Wamala has advised the bereaved children of Late Man Gen Kasirye Gwanga not to start famy fights for the property left behind by the deceased.
Gen Katumba was speaking as a Chief Mourner during the funeral fare well of Maj Gen Kasirye Gwanga in Nkene Village Busujju in Mityana district.
"We don't want to hear internal fights like the news we watch on Bukedde TV 'Agataliko Nfufu' in the family of Maj Gen Kasirye Gwanga," he warned.
Gen Katumba using the Luganda jargons of: “Namwatulira” the deceased as an openness military officer. He said that Maj Gen never used his position as a military officer to gain material wealth in what he called Primitive accumulation wealth despite the opportunities he had to do so.
Maj Gen Kasirye Gwanga also known as Samuel Wasswa Kasirye Gwanga aka ‘Gen Fog’ died in the morning of June9th at Nakaseero Hospital where he breathed his last at the age of 68. The updf accorded him an official send off and today was given laid to rest. The updf honorably sent him off with a 13 gun shoots.
Gen David Muhoozi, the CDF eulogized the deceased as a selfless, non corrupt, courageous, bold and patriotic individual who loved his country Uganda and the Kingdom of Buganda.
Many People described him as a an environmentalist and a person who loved agriculture. A tree was later planted in his acknowledgement to conservation of the environment.
The bereaved family lead by Iryn his daughter, also described Maj Gen Kasirye Gwanga as a dearly father who loved his neighbors as he did to his family. Some of his children and wife based in the US didn’t physically give a send off to their Dad due to the effects of COVID-19 which restricts movements.
A limited number of Mourners including dignitaries from the Updf, political and religious sectors attended the funeral ceremony.
