KAMPALA:
Following the Kampala twin explosions on Tuesday that claimed 6 lives and injured 33 persons, the Democratic Party (DP) has asked government to hold talks with regional states to address terrorism acts in the region.
According to a statement dated November 16 by the DP President Hon. Nobert Mao, the regional approach will help in sharing of intelligence and joint military actions against terrorists.

“Finally, we call for regional approach to combat terrorism. This approach would require the sharing of intelligence and joint military actions against terror bases.” Mao said.
He however added that the approach requires healthy relations between between the governments in the region.
Furthermore, the Democratic Party accuses security of lack of contigent plans to give emergency services to victims of such disasters despite prior assurances on readiness to offer the same. They (DP) appealed to NGOs such as the Red Cross, St. John’s ambulances among others to support security in enabling respond to emergencies as fast as possible.
Nonetheless, the president General of the DP says that the killings of unarmed Ugandans is aimed to achieving political and religious objectives.
“We denounce the unleashing of deadly force against defenseless civilians. There is no justification whatsoever for killing defenseless civilians as a means of achieving political or religious objectives,” he added.
Mao condemned terror acts on Uganda and condoled with families whose members have died in the bomb explosions since the Komamboga Digida pork joint explosions on October 23, and Tuesday November 16, twin explosions in Kampala wishing a quck recovery to all casualities.
