Driver of a long distance bus was killed and unidentified number of passengers injured in a mishap as the bus rammed into a stationary trailer in Kyenjojo district.
The accident occured at Mukunyu Trading Centre in Kyenjojo district along Kampala- Fort Portal Highway at around 19:45 hrs.
The accident involved an Isuzu bus motor vehicle registration number UAY 485E belonging to Link Bus Services Company which rammed into a stationary broken-down trailer registration number UAV 326W, Mercedes Benz.
SP Twesige Vincent, police spokesperson for Rwenzori West confirmed the accident noting that the bus driver identified as Kawawu Dauda died on spot.
“The bus driver, lost his life at the scene of accident…” Twesige said
The other victims (number yet to identify) were immediately rushed to Kyenjojo Hospital for medical attention.
