A UPDF deserter in Kapchorwa district Sebei sub-region has been put behind the bars after he allegedly stabbed his wife to death.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at around 4:00 pm at a place called California cell, Chepsukuroi Ward, near Kapchorwa Central Police Station.
The suspect is Somin Alex, a resident of Sirinda village, Ngangata parish, Kaptanya SC in Kapchorwa district and a UPDF deserter.
He allegedly stabbed his wife Chebet Stella to death following a domestic strife at home.
The sebei region police spokesperson Fredmark Chesang says that the qquarrel ensued after the suspect accused his wife of being involved in a love affair with other men.
Police has visited the scene of the crome and the deceased’s body has been taken to Kapchorwa hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
Chesanga says that police has started inquiries into the matter.
