Express’s win over Bul FC was their first of the season, ending a run of two straight defeats to start the 2021/2022 Uganda premier League (UPL) campaign.
Mahad Yaya’s 52nd minute goal seemed to be the difference though it wasn’t the most convincing performance from the Red Eagles.
Efforts by Wasswa Bbosa’s side to double the lead were futile as Musiige was fouled and a free kick awarded was easily collected by Bul FC’s goalie.
In the 71st minute, Musiige’s shot was deflected to a corner kick before Nicolas Kasozi came on for John Byabakama.
The Red Eagles now stand with 3 points and a -2 goal difference on the UPL table.
The feeling at full-time was a relief as the Express FC admin tweeted
” Finaaaaally the boys have delivered our first @UPL win of the season, our first away win too.”
Express lost their first game 2-0 against newly promoted Arua Hill, and then consecutively lost to Updf FC 1-0 on match day 2.
