KAMPALA
Five people died on spot during the fatal multi-car accident at the Forest Park along Mityana – Kampala road.
The fatal accident occured at Buloba Forest Park on Saturday evening (April 1) at around 20:00hrs, traffic police reported.
According to ASP Faridah Nampiima, the spokesperson traffic and road safety directorate the accident happened after one of the motor vehicles Scania type registration number UAX628S that was loaded with parked water from Kampala side heading to Mityana, developed a tyre burst, lost control and rammed into five motor vehicles.
The damaged vehicles are UBE613E Toyota Hiace , UAR 175W Isuzu Elf, UAX783F Mitsubishi Pajero and UFL 384D Bajaj Boxer.
Five people died on spot including two passengers from motor vehicle reg no UAV 515J, other two from UBE 613E Toyota Hiace and a Boda Boda rider.
“Unidentified number of victims have been rushed to Mulago Hospital for medical help. Inquiries into the matter are underway and more details will be availed in due course,” Nampiima said

Forest Park Buloba is becoming a death spot for road accidents following similar fatal accident in December last year.
On December 30 last year, another multi-car crash occured at this same spot after a Semi-trailer rammed into a Toyota Wish motor vehicle killing three of its occupants. It there after continued and rammed into the Toyota Hilux, Toyota Harrier and two Motorcycles.
