Nakapelimen FC entered the books of records when they became the first team from the Karamoja Region to reach the Round of 64 of the Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup in the history of the competition.

They will now face Uganda Premier League side Soltilo Bright Stars FC in front of their home fans at Naetawae P/S in Moroto on Saturday and they will be looking forward to writing more history.

“It has never happened before for a team from this region to reach the Round of 64 and therefore it is the first achievement we are also excited about,” Nakapelimen head coach Logit Ben said ahead of the game.

“We are now going to face a Uganda Premier League team which is also another achievement and an opportunity for many of us.”

“It is going to be a very big experience because we are going to face top players and we are hoping to take the day.”

“Bright Stars is a big club and winning against them will change a lot right from my career, the careers of the players, and the reputation of Nakapelimen as a club.”

On the same day, there will be five more other fixtures on matchday 7 of the Round of 64 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Besides Bright Stars, two more Uganda Premier League teams UPDF FC and Onduparaka FC also have dates against Bushenyi Veterans FC and Packwach Young Stars FC respectively.

UPDF will be a way to Bushenyi Veterans at Bushenyi Stadium while Onduparaka will visit Packwach Young Stars at St. Mary’s Omach Grounds.

Soltilo Bright Stars FC

FUFA Big League sides Mbarara City, Kaaro Karungi, and Kyetume will also be looking forward to advancing to the next stage when they face SC Tawai, Bunyaruguru United, and Paidha Black Angels respectively.

Mbarara versus Tawai will be played at Angwecibange P/S – Dokolo, Paidha Black Angels against Kyetume will be played at Barokoro Ground – Zombo while Bunyaruguru will host Kaaro Karungi at Nyakasharu Play Ground – Rubirizi.

– Bushenyi Veterans vs UPDF – 4pm*

– Paidha Black Angels vs Kyetume – 4pm*

– Bunyaruguru United vs Kaaro Karungi – 4pm*

– SC Tawai vs Mbarara City – 4pm*
