At least four people have been confirmed dead following a car crash in Nakasongola district on Saturday night.
ASP Sam Twineamazima, police spokesperson for Savannah region has identified the deceased as Adam Balyejjusa, 27, Abdul Kharim Walugembe, 42, Abbas Yoga, 45 and another an unidentified male adult.
According to Twineamazima, the accident occured on Saturday night at a place called Kikoona Trading Centre when a trailer registration number UAQ108W/UAY227P, Benz type that was heading to Kampala from Gulu attempted to cross to another lane and collided with a Fuso Truck registration number UBL345A, killing four people on the spot.
Another person, Sam Muwonge sustained injuries and was rushed to Nakasongola HCIV for treatment while the bodies of the deceased were conveyed to Nakasongola HCIV mortuary for postmortem.
This is a second deadly accident to occur in Nakasongola in a period of less than a week following the Monday evening (August 14) accident in which a Toyota Hiace vehicle registration number UAM930P collided with a stationary truck registration number UBB736C, claiming the lives of four people, in Kyankonwa village, Katuugo Town Council along Kampala – Gulu Highway
The deceased were identified as Victoria Nalubeama, Bernard Ntege, Emmanuel Nyakato and Emmanuel Isingoma. The driver and another young boy sustained injuries.
