Due to the spread of Corona virus that threatened the health globally, sports events were suspended and most of the leagues abruptly ended to avoid the spread of the novel virus. In Uganda, the premier league was also affected.
In a consultative meeting held by the domestic football governing body FUFA at FUFA house today June 10th in Mengo, the return dates of the StarTimes Uganda premier league remains uncertain.
According to Decolas Kizza the Deputy CEO in charge of football told journalists that the too tier league will resume in October compared to September as it has been.
“If Corona virus continues,the super league will be resuming on 22nd October to be specific and for this matter therefore,our clubs will utilize the period by doing licencing, preparations and club assessment.” Kizza stated.
The startimes Uganda Premier League was ended prematurely at the rate of 75% due to the existence of novel Corona virus.
Vipers FC was announced as Victors while Maroons,Toro and proline FC were relegated.
