Kawempe South member of parliament, Hon. Bashir Kazibwe has asked the Ministry of Gender & Culture Affairs to explain circumstances under which 2 artists namely Sophie Nantongo and Dr.Tee alias Travis Kazibwe grabbed a music studio built by Gov’t in Mengo-Kampala to support artists to record their songs at a low cost.

“In 2019, Government created a recording studio in Mengo-Kampala where all muscians were supposed to go and pay Shs100,000 and it is being manned by two artists Sophie Nantongo and Dr.Tee Travis Kazibwe but the reports we are getting, artists aren’t in position to easily access the studio, yet it was funded by Government. So we don’t know whether this project is for these two individuals, is it still a government project or did you surrender it?” asked Kazibwe.
The lawmaker now demands that the ministry explains how a project meant to benefit artists ended up in the hands of two greedy and selfish artists.
