Police in Mukono are pursuing a 25-year-old man suspected of murdering his girlfriend in Seeta, Mukono district.
The suspect is Wabembasha Enock, a resident of Nabutu Zone, Seeta ward, Goma Division in Mukono.
He allegedly murdered his girlfriend, Hajat Namboozo Fatuma, 28 by strangling on Saturday 1st July, 2023 at night.
Namboozo is a resident of Bulijo village, Kyampisi parish, Nagalaama Sub- County in Mukono District.
Police preliminary report indicates that the victim visited the boyfriend that evening, led to a quarrel which resulted into the stressful murder.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said on Monday (July 3) that the suspect used his girlfriend’s phone to call her parents and told them to pick the dead body of their daughter for burial. And that he didn’t regret having killed her.
The body was found in the rented room, early the following morning.
