As the world grapples with the educated youth who have used their art and science knowledge acquired from schools to provoke God, Papa Kenneth Alwong has used the same to transform lives and restore hopes of many colleagues who had lost hopes in God.

You all may have watched a video, seen photos or just heard from friends about the Kyambogo university students who used their graduation day as a platform to preach the gospel on the streets of Banda town in Kyambogo Kampala.

Parrots UG caught up with Kenneth Alwong, the former Chairman of the Manifest Fellowship of Kyambogo under Phaneroo ministries administered by Apostle Grace Lubega.

Papa Kenneth Alwong as popularly referred to is among the students that yesterday made rounds on social media after they hit the streets of Banda preaching the word of God to bless the him for another academic milestone. He graduated with Bachelor of Telecommunication Engineering.

Unlike many youth who feel despised to talk about the gospel, Papa Alwong says that the youth at Manifest fellowships believe in using the gospel to solve generational challenges and therefore, are not shy to preach the same.

“We are not shy to preach the gospel because we have proved that it has worked in our life and we understand that its the solution the world is looking for. We boldly preach because we have answers to this generation’s problems,” he said.

The 25-year-old graduate says they were guided by the Holy spirit to do an open air street preaching on their graduation day because they wanted to show the world especially the graduates that one can read books and still love God as well as reflecting to them on the importance of the gospel of salivation.

“It would not have been a proper graduation for me without winning a few souls to Christ,” the Telecommunication Engineering graduate said.

Asked how he balanced studies with fellowship activities, Papa Alwong quoted the scriptures in Philippians 4:13 saying divine graces always helped him to determine when to read and when to go for prayers.

“It was purely by the grace of God. If it was to point my ability, I would be lying. The Holy spirit has been the planner of my Timetable, when to read and when to go for prayers,” he explained.

Papa Alwong says the perceptions that people run to God only when they are faced with life’s challenges is because men have not tasted the intimacy of fellowship with God.

“At Phaneroo, we are taught that God has given us all things with understanding we are drawn to God because he has loved us so much.”
He added, “the revelation of the love of God is the backbone of continually being present to Him.”

He notes that serving the Lord is a privilege imploring the youth to to serve God and preach his good deeds to mankind.

The Journey to Accept Christ as personal savior.
Born on 23 April, 1996 at Rubaga hospital, Papa Alwong was led to Christ by his elder brother in 2011 who used to preach to him about God’s grace and love.

But, his relationship with God cemented years later when he met the Phaneroo ministries vision bearer Apostle Grace Lubega, who had gone to lead a fellowship at Kyambogo University.

Papa Alwong is the alumnus of Namilyango College where he actively played Rugby on the school team. He also captained the Uganda Rugby Cranes U19 in 2015.

During all this time, he was a born again, but living a secular life without any serious relationship with God until he joined Phaneroo Ministries International.
