The police in Rubirizi district are hunting for a 15-year-old boy for allegedly defiling a 1 year old toddler.
The suspect only identified as Collins allegedly defiled Nyangoma Sheila a 1 year and 4 months toddler, a daughter to Atuhaire Rose 28 years, all residents of Kanyambiriri 1 cell, Ndarago parish, Rutoto sub – county in Rubirizi district.
The incident happened on 23rd October 2023 at around 11:30am and was reported to police by the victim’s mother at around 2:07pm.
Its alleged that the complainant was doing some work at home and left the victim with Collins (suspect) a son to a neighbour, in short time she realized that it was going to rain, she went to pick the victim but she found her with Collins in a bedroom without nickers and suspect claimed that he had removed the nicker after the victim had urinated in it, at the same time the suspect’s trousers were dressed halfway on the knees.
The mother then removed the victim and rushed to call her friend Sylvia to witness.On coming back, Collins had ran away that’s when she checked the victim and found out that she had been defiled.
A case file was opened vide Rutoto Police station SD Ref 07/23/10/2023, scene of crime visited and examined by Soco, statements recorded from relevant witnesses and the victim was examined on Pf 3A showing forceful penile penetration.
The Greater Bushenyi police mouthPiece SSP Martial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that efforts are underway to arrest the suspect.
