KAMPALA

Mukiibi Sadat, popularly known as Khalifa AgaNaga, has emerged victorious in the race for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket to represent Kawempe North.

AgaNaga was awarded the FDC ticket at the party’s headquarters in Najanankumbi, triumphing over other candidates who had applied for the same position.

In his conversation with journalists at Najanankumbi, Sadat expressed his motivation for choosing FDC, citing the party’s unwavering consistency and dedication to democratic principles.

He also mentioned that his political role model is Rt Colonel Dr. Kizza Besigye, a prominent figure in Ugandan politics and a stalwart of FDC. AgaNaga voiced his dissatisfaction with the current administration under the National Resistance Movement (NRM), criticizing its handling of the country’s affairs.

Acknowledging his nascent political career, Sadat emphasized his eagerness to learn from the experienced members of FDC. “I am still young in politics, but I am determined to win the elections and effectively represent the people of Kawempe North,” he stated.

AgaNaga also highlighted his readiness to absorb wisdom and guidance from the senior members of his party, ensuring that he is well-prepared for the challenges ahead.Reflecting on his previous attempt to secure the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket in 2021, AgaNaga noted that the outcome might have been a matter of timing.

He expressed confidence that now is the opportune moment for his political ambitions, and he anticipates a resounding victory in the upcoming elections.

AgaNaga has promised the people of Kawempe that he is going direct to the abattoir where the meat is cut and shared, noting that the habit of sending them bones and fats will stop immediately as he is sworn in as Member of parliament for Kawempe North.

FDC president Patrick Amuriat said they are optimistic about his prospects, believing that his youthful energy and commitment to the constituency will resonate with the electorate. As the election campaigns kick into high gear, all eyes will be on him as he strives to bring fresh leadership and positive change to Kawempe North.
