The leadership of Kisoro district has thanked HE the president for prioritizing their district in the national industrialization move. This happened as the district was holding the end of year get-together party with Uganda Investment Authority Director General as the chief guest. A number of dignitaries including former Inspector General of police Gen Kale Kayihura and minister of Gender in charge of youth Hon Sarah Mateke , area members of parliament attended the function.
District councilors attributed the development to the appointment of their son Robert Mukiza as the UIA chief. The vice chairman LCV Mr Alex Nambaje told this website that ever since Robert was appointed as the UIA chief, he has been pushing hard to implement the president’s directive of establishing an industrial park in Kisoro. The district gave UIA 620 acres of land for putting up the business park.
The district chairman Abel Biziimana thanked Robert Mukiza for making sure that the establishment of industrial remains on a steady track. He noted that the titling of the land was done and officially handed over to UIA for action.
General Kale Kayihura also urged the district leadership to continue supporting Uganda Investment Authority in making sure that this idea of the industrial park is realized. “Once this industrial park is here, jobs for our children will automatically come and Kisoro will be out of poverty” Kale stated.
The state minister of Gender Hon Sarah Mateke told Bafumbira to prepare themselves in order to benefit from the industrial park. “Industrialist will need both skilled and unskilled labor, so prepare yourselves to tap into this great opportunity that is coming here in our district “ Sarah said.
Mr Robert Mukiza who was the chief guest also thanked the president for always loving Kisoro. In a special way, he told the congregation that he will indeed make sure that the president’s directive of establishing an industrial park in Kibaya is implemented to the dot. Mr Mukiza told the business community to start thinking about manufacturing so that they can massively benefit from the industrial park. He thanked the district leadership for embracing the idea of the industrial park and supporting it. I can assure you that with the backing of the president, we are determined to bring industries in Kisoro.
