In her first public message after the announcement of results, Kyarampe said her win was a collective achievement for the people of Mitooma and vowed to be a true voice for all residents.

“I commit myself to selfless service, inclusive leadership, and to being a true voice for the people of Mitooma. Together, we shall work for development, dignity, and a brighter future for our district,” Kyarampe said.

She commended voters across the district for the confidence they placed in her, saying the outcome reflected a shared desire for unity and progress.

“This victory belongs to all of us,” she said, expressing gratitude to women, men, youth, elders, religious and opinion leaders, and her campaign team for their support throughout the campaign period.

Rabecca Kyarampe Namanya, NRM flag bearer for Mitooma district.

Kyarampe, who contested on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket, defeated incumbent Juliet Agasha Bashiisha. According to results announced by the Electoral Commission in Mitooma district, Kyarampe garnered 43,684 votes, while Bashiisha polled 23,773 votes.

Bashiisha, a member of NRM, had contested as an Independent candidate after she lost in the party primaries in August last year.

Kyarampe said she would work with all stakeholders to advance development, social services delivery and improve the welfare of all residents. She now awaits to be sworn in as the Mitooma district woman representative in the 12th parliament later this year.

Parliament has announced that the freshly elected Members of Parliament (MP) will be sworn in between 13th and 15th May, 2026.
