Swansea City has officially welcomed Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modrić as an investor and co-owner, marking a significant milestone for the club. The Croatian football legend, widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation, brings a wealth of experience and prestige to the team.

Modrić, the most decorated player in Real Madrid’s history, boasts an impressive career that includes; six Champions League titles, six Club World Cups, five European Super Cups, four La Liga championships, two Spanish Cups, and five Spanish Super Cups. He has also earned individual accolades such as ;The Best FIFA Men’s Player award and the Ballon d’Or, and played a pivotal role in Croatia’s journey to the 2018 World Cup Final. At 39 years old, he continues to perform at the highest level, having made 45 appearances for Real Madrid this season, scoring four goals.

His decision to invest in Swansea City underscores his belief in the club’s ambition and vision. Modrić expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture, stating, “This is an exciting opportunity. Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fanbase, and the ambition to compete at the highest level. Playing at the highest level, I believe I can provide my experience to the club. My goal is to support the club’s growth in a positive way and to help build an exciting future.”

Swansea City CEO, Tom Gorringe echoed Modrić’s sentiments, emphasizing the positive impact his involvement will have on the club. “I am excited that Luka has come on board as an investor and co-owner. There is no better role model in the game for our players, from the academy right through to the first team. His endorsement of our ambition and willingness to support us on our journey will be instrumental as we aim to continue to improve our results on and off the pitch.”

The Swansea City board also welcomed Modrić’s arrival, highlighting the alignment of their visions and the value he brings to the ownership group. They expressed gratitude for his support and look forward to introducing him to the fans at Swansea.com Stadium.

With Modrić’s backing, Swansea City is poised for an exciting future, both on and off the pitch. Fans eagerly anticipate the impact of his leadership and experience as the club continues its journey toward greater success.
