Lukwago calls for mass testing in Kampala.

City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has called for mass testing in Kampala due to increased COVID-19 community cases.

Lukwago made these remarks yesterday during an induction workshop for city lord councillors at city hall in Kampala.

Lukwago decried the increasing community cases in the city and urged for voluntary coronavirus testing in Ksmpala communities on top of observing the set guidelines.

During the workshop, councillors were oriented pursuant on their roles, functions, responsibilities and the City authority’s governance structure in appreciation of the new KCCA legal regime (KCCA Amendment Act, 2019).

Lukwago appealed to KCCA ED Dorothy Kisaka to equip authority’s health centres in the five divisions of Kampala to help in managing the rising cases.

Uganda has of today Thursday August 27, recorded 2,679 cumulative COVID-19 cases, 1,268 recoveries and 28 fatalities.
