Mbarara Archdiocese has released burial program for Rev. Fr. Wycliffe Byamugisha who died in a tragic road accident today Sunday 20th October, 2024.

Fr. Byamugisha tragically died in a road crash on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Kabobo, Igorora, Ibanda District.

Reports shows that the accident happened when a vehicle in which the priest was traveling crashed with a milk tanker belonging to Amos Diaries.

According to a funeral program released by Fr. Mukasa Balikudembe, Diocesan Chancellor, Fr. Byamugisha will be laid to rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Nyamitanga cathedral cemetery.

The following is the official burial program as released by Fr. Mukasa Balikudembe, the Diocesan Chancellor:

Sunday, October 20, 2024

8:00 PM: The body will be received at Nyabuhikye Centre, followed by a Mass.

9:00 PM: Viewing of the body and silent, private prayers will take place in the church.

Monday, October 21, 2024

7:00 AM: Morning Mass at Nyabuhikye Centre.

11:00 AM: A second Mass at Nyabuhikye Centre.

3:00 PM: The body will be received at Nyamitanga Cathedral.

4:00 PM: Mass at Nyamitanga Cathedral.

5:00-7:00 PM: Viewing of the body and silent, private prayer in the cathedral.

A vigil will be held at Nyamitanga Administration Cathedral:

9:00 PM: Mass at Nyamitanga Administration Chapel.

11:00 PM: Another Mass at Nyamitanga Administration Chapel.

Tuesday, October 22, 2024

7:00 AM: Morning Mass at Nyamitanga Administration Chapel.

11:00 AM: Funeral Mass at Nyamitanga Cathedral, followed by the burial at Nyamitanga Cemetery.

Fr. Byamugisha is born in Kashekuro parish in Sheema district, Southwest Uganda. He has been serving as the Curate Priest at Nyabuhikye Centre in Ibanda. May His Soul Rest In Peace.
