The minister of Information for Busoga Kingdom, Micheal Kifubangabo has appealed to police and other security organs to expedite investigations into the murder of his son and bring the perpetrators to book.
Rogers Kifubangabo, 32, son to Hon. Min. Kifubangabo was on Sunday night discovered dead in a pool of blood by the roadside in Bugembe, Jinja City a stone throws distance from his residence.
Kiira Region Police spokesperson, James Mubi alleges that the deceased was killed in Budhumbuli suburb which has turned into crime-ridden area in Bugembe.
“Kifubangabo was murdered a few meters from where he lived in Bugembe; the body was discovered in a pool of blood with cuts around the neck,” Mubi said.
Police detectives have started investigating the matter with the help of CCTV cameras installed to apprehend the culprits.
The regional police mouthpiece said that they are working on leads that some local political leaders and landlords are fueling insecurity in some areas of Jinja City by housing criminals they claim are their voters.
Rogers Kifubangabo will be laid to rest on Wednesday in Nagweni village, Bulopa sub-county, Kamuli district
