Police at Kabalagala is holding in it’s custody, Jennifer Namubiru, a mother and resident of Kisugu parish, Makindye Division in Kampala for attempted murder of her three children in a house fire.
This was revealed by the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigire during a press conference at Police Headquarters in Naguru on Monday August 14.
Acoording to Owoyesigire, Namubiru, a housewife allegedly set fire to her three children aged 7,6 and 2 years respectively on 13th August 2023
“The children were locked inside the house as the fire spread, but their cries for help alerted neighbours who rushed to their rescue “ Owoyesigyire said
Police investigations revealed that Namubiru had been previously involved in domestic violence with her husband, Bululu Moses and the matter had been previously been addressed by local leaders and was under investigations by the CFPU Kisugu.
“The local community leaders and the landlady were interviewed to establish the facts surrounding the incident, it has been determined that Jennifer Namubiru, on this day gathered the belongings, ignited a fire and locked her children inside the burning house , with intention to end their lives” 0woyesigire explained
He urged uged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
