Unknown assailants have attacked Kampala woman MP Shamim Malende, the defense lawyer for jailed opposition legislators Muhammed Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana.
“I have been attacked by unknown people on my way to Masaka Court for the bail application of Hon. Ssegirinya and Hon. Ssewanyana and my car tyres deflated,” she said.
According to the legislator, the assailants attacked and deflated her car tyres using sharp machetes 5KM to Masaka Court where she was going for her clients’ bail application.
In related stories, there was drama inside Masaka High Court after monitors developed a technical issue failing to connect signals to the virtual system at prisons where MPs Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana were expected to follow court proceedings.
But the issue was after a couple of minutes fixed and by the time of compiling this report, MP Ssegirinya was following the proceedings at Kigo prison while Ssewanya followed from Luzira Murchision Bay prison.
