The police in Mubende have arrrested Akandwanaho Godfrey in connection with the death of kansime Sarah occured last night at around midnight.
The Mubende Police PRO SP Racheal Kawala said that the incident happened in Buganya village kalama parish,Butologo sub-county.
It is alleged that the deceased’s father relocated from Kyankwanzi in February 2023 and acquired a plot of land near the suspect’s residence.
“He requested the suspect to rent him a room for his family, as he was planning to build his own house, however due to limited space the suspect offered to house two of the girls, including the deceased in his room unfortunately, the suspect allegedly sexually abused the deceased” Kawala explained
Preliminary reports indicate that the suspect discovered that the deceased had two simcards which led him to suspect her of having another lover.
“At midnight he confronted her about engaging in intercourse, but she refused leading to quarrels, this escalated causing the girl to flee the house. Akandwanaho pursued her with a machete and cut her causing a fatal injury” Kawala added
Police recovered a panga that was used in the crime and the suspect has been arrested and detained at Mubende CPS while the body of the deceased has been conveyed to Mubende Referral Hospital for postmortem analysis.
