Electoral Commission Chairperson for Muni University, Morrish Thomson Droma is dead, University announced.
According to the university, Droma passed on yesterday Friday 7th April, 2023 at Maracha hospital following a motor accident.
“We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Mr. Droma Morrish Thomson, our Students’ Guild Electoral Commission Chairperson for the 2023/2024 guild elections. Mr. Thomson passed away last night, 7th April 2023, at Maracha Hospital following a motor accident,” University announced on Twitter.
Droma presided over the conduct of the 2023/24 guild elections at West Nile’s public university inwhich Ongenwroth Victor (Bachelor of Nursing Science) was declared the 8th guild president after he ganred 268 votes against Herbert Amajuru who obtained 150 votes in March.
In related stories, the university has postponed the lnaguraration of the 8th guild council to a date to be communicated later.
By press time, no official communication had been released by either the university or Droma’s family regarding his funeral arrangements. Traffic police has also not yet issued an official statement on the deceased accident.
